Network graphs for similar words on quire 1
The graphs for single pages also contain frequently used word pairs like "daiin" and "aiin" or "chol" and "chor". On some pages even networks of four or more similar words stand out. For instance on the pages <f4r> and <f8v> the words "shol", "shor", "chol" and "chor" build a network of similar words. As more frequent a word type is on a certain page as more similar words exists on that page.
Another observation is that frequently used words differ for the pages in quire 1. Even the word pair "daiin"/"dain" doesn't exist on all pages. For instance on page <f1v> the word "daiin" occurs only once.
Two words where handled as similar if they differ in only one glyph (edit distance = 1). This way for a number of words no similar words exist on the same page. But most times this words are similar to words somewhere else in the VMS. For instance the word "okaiir" on page <f1r> is similar to the word "okaiin" on page <f4r>. Moreover "okaiin" is also similar to other words on page <f1r>. Therefore an additional word "okaiin" on page <f1r> would stand between "okaiir" and "ykaiir". Because of this observation it seems it seems necessary to check also graphs where words differing in two glyphs are handled as similar. If also words with two different glyphs (edit distance = 2) are handled as similar only for a smal number of words no similar word is found.
Words similar to "daiin", "ol" and "chedy" are colored. All word containing the glyph "i" are orange. Node for words ending in "d" or "y" are purple. Nodes for words containing "ol", "or", "ar", "al" or end with "am" or "os" are green. All other nodes are colored using blue.
